Guest Bio:

Mark Davies is an award-winning, Emmy and Eddie-nominated Editor. His credits include the Oscar-nominated and Golden Globe-winning Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Steve Coogan’s Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, the Emmy-winning Netflix anthology series Black Mirror, Channel 4 & Netflix’s multiple BAFTA-winning Peep Show, and now Amazon Prime’s BAIT. 


During his editing career he has worked with Danny Boyle, Jesse Armstrong, Rowan Atkinson, Armando Iannucci, Johnny Depp, Riz Ahmed, and is a frequent collaborator of Sacha Baron Cohen. 


He is currently editing two episodes, including the season finale, of HBO’s Harry Potter.  Mark is from Shropshire in Northern England, and lives in South London with his family.


Ciara Elwis is a music supervisor who works across both creative research and source music clearance. Having honed her playlisting abilities working for Spotify whilst at university, Ciara joined the Air-Edel team in 2015 and has since worked on projects including Derry Girls, Katherine Ryan’s The Duchess and Michaela Coel’s I May Destroy You for which she won an Emmy award for outstanding music supervision. Most recently she worked on season 2 of Aisling Bea’s BAFTA winning This Way Up and season 3 of Ricky Gervais’ Afterlife. 


Shruti Kumar (she/her) is a composer, producer, and conductor working in NY, London, and LA. Recently, she scored Riz Ahmed’s seriesBAIT (Left Handed Films, Amazon/MGM), Walt Disney Imagineering’s Thea Award winning Haunted Mansion Experience, and Alicia Keys documentary ‘Uncharted’ (Paramount+). She is currently scoring Ravi Kapoor’s upcoming feature ‘PATEL’. Previously, she joined Daniel Hart writing additional music for seasons 1 and 2 of Interview With The Vampire (AMC), and spent time working at Remote Control Productions for Henry Jackman and Hans Zimmer.

In the songwriting and production world, Shruti has collaborated with artists and bands including Alicia Keys, Garbage, Nas, No Doubt, Fiona Apple, and Vampire Weekend. In her own writing she aims for a post-genre space that blends her many influences and experiences. Her next album ‘Nodding Terms’ featuring the London Contemporary Orchestra has already been featured on BBC and NPR.



Shruti has performed at venues ranging from (le) poisson rouge to The Walt Disney Concert Hall, where she composed, arranged, and conducted a sold out tribute to Yoko Ono with the LA Phil and Gxrlschool (featuring artists such at St. Vincent, Shirley Manson, Sudan Archives, We Are King, and more) — the LA Times called this “a vision for the way forward.” 

Shruti hosts an accoladed radio show on dublab and founded Sound Travels — a community and education resource for musicians during COVID and beyond. She completed her undergraduate studies at both The Juilliard School and Columbia University and completed her Masters’ degree at NYU. She is now an adjunct faculty member at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute and Screen Scoring programs.
